Dr Emma Walter

Dr Emma Walter is a lecturer in psychology and early career researcher. Emma’s research aims to identify markers in cognitive and emotional functioning which have transdiagnostic utility. By developing our understanding of the complex nature of social, emotional and cognitive functioning in everyday life and the impact of individual differences and mechanisms which may underlie impaired functioning in these areas.

Dr Evan Alexandrou

Evan Alexandrou is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the Western Sydney University as well as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Intensive Care Unit at Liverpool Hospital where he coordinates the Central Venous Access Service which is internationally renowned for its clinical expertise in vascular access procedures.

Associate Professor Evelyn Smith

I am a clinical psychologist specialising in eating disorders and obesity. My main research program has focused on the possible effects of obesity and associated correlates (inflammation, arterial stiffness, diabetes) on cognition, and whether cognition and cognitive processes impact on eating behaviour and body image. I have also focused on developing or modifying treatments for obesity and eating disorders.

Dr Fran Doyle

Dr Frances Doyle is a clinical child psychologist and early career researcher. Frances’ research aims to improve the wellbeing of children, parents, and families by: understanding the developmental pathways to ill mental health; understanding the role that parents and children play in each other’s lives; and advocating for policies that increase child mental health literacy and access to evidence-based interventions for child mental health problems.

Associate Professor Freya MacMillan

Dr Freya MacMillan is a Health and Wellbeing Research Theme Champion at Western Sydney University and an Associate Professor in Interprofessional Health Sciences, based in the School of Health Sciences. Freya is a lifestyle behaviour change intervention expert. She uses her community engagement, mixed-methods and implementation science expertise to develop, evaluate and translate lifestyle interventions into sustainable practice for the prevention of diabetes and promotion of health and wellbeing.

Associate Professor Gabriella Heruc

As both an experienced eating disorder clinician and researcher, Adjunct Associate Professor Gabriella Heruc is passionate about bringing a nutrition and dietetic focus to eating disorder research. She is particularly motivated by creating real-world solutions in the eating disorder sector, as seen through her development of the innovative ENRG at Western, and her implementation of the ANZAED credentialing system for eating disorder clinicians to standardise care and improve treatment outcomes.
