Associate Professor Brahmaputra (Brahm) Marjadi

Associate Professor in Community Engaged Learning and Associate Dean for Engagement at the School of Medicine

Biography

Brahm has a medical degree and general practice training from Indonesia. He has been a medical academic since 1996. His teaching portfolio spans medical microbiology, infection control, epidemiology, research methods, evidence-based medicine, medical anthropology, and social determinants of health, and across medical, nursing, public health, and pharmacy courses. He has taught in the undergraduate, Honours, Master’s and PhD levels in Indonesia and Australia. Joining Western Sydney University in 2013, Brahm now serves as the School of Medicine's Associate Dean for Engagement where he oversees and develops the School's community engagement partnerships and initiatives. Brahm is also the Senior Advisor of Medicine in Context, the School’s flagship community engaged learning program. 

Brahm brings to his works at THRI his vast community engagement networks and his expertise in community engaged learning, cross-cultural knowledge translation, and diversity, intersectionality, equity and inclusion.
