Biography

Dr Navindhra Naidoo [NDip AEC, BTech EMC, H Dip Ed, MPH, PhD (Forensic Med)] is the Director of Paramedicine at Western Sydney University and was formerly Senior Lecturer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), Emergency Medical Sciences in Cape Town, South Africa. As a former Assistant Director in Health and having served on the Health Professions Council of South Africa, he is experienced in health service strategic management and professional regulation. His research and policy interest includes critical theory, transformative pedagogy, gender-based violence prevention and evidence-informed decision making that intersects state and civil society interests in emergency care and violence prevention. Navin was the former chair of the CPUT Faculty Research Ethics Committee and co-chair of the Belgium Red Cross First Aid for First Responders EBM project in sub-Saharan Africa. Navin was Chair of the Working Group on Violence, Abuse and Neglect at the Australasian College of Paramedicine and is certified as a Commercial and Court-Aligned Mediator. He supervises higher degree research in South Africa and Australia, in the fields of Paramedicine, social inclusivity, health professions education, emergency and forensic medicine.
