Biography

Dr Benjamin Hanckel is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University. Benjamin is based at the Young and Resilient Research Centre. His work examines youth health and wellbeing, social inequalities in health, and social change. His work has examined the design and use of digital technologies for health, and health intervention implementation, particularly in relation to the lived experiences of young people, including sexuality and gender diverse youth. His recent work has also explored innovative methods for public health evaluative research. He has led research projects across Australia, East and South-East Asia, as well as the United Kingdom.

Benjamin is a convenor of the LGBTQI Cluster within the Health Systems Global (HSG) SHAPES thematic group.
