Professor Vlasios Brakoulias

Biography
Professor Brakoulias is recognised at an international level for his research into obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. He heads a novel service within Western Sydney Local Health District that aims to comprehensively assess and optimise treatment for patients suffering from obsessive-compulsive and related disorders and is pioneering research into the prevention and early intervention of these distressing and disabling disorders. Professor Brakoulias is a senior psychiatrist and a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). He is currently the Executive Director for Mental Health Services in the Western Sydney Local Health District.
Since 2013, Prof Brakoulias has been the Editor in Chief of the peer-reviewed medical journal, "Australasian Psychiatry". He teaches medical students at the Blacktown-Mt Druitt Medical School. Prof Brakoulias is a member of the International College of Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders (ICOCS) and he has led several major international collaborative research projects.
